Damaged doors take longer
A torsion spring job on a standard door is predictable. A door that's been hit, warped, or rebuilt with mismatched parts over the years is not, and guessing at that kind of job wastes your time and ours.

Our limits
We don't quote spring, cable, or panel work over the phone without basic details, and we won't quote a full replacement without seeing the opening.
A torsion spring job on a standard door is predictable. A door that's been hit, warped, or rebuilt with mismatched parts over the years is not, and guessing at that kind of job wastes your time and ours.
Most of the garage doors we quote here were installed between 1971 and 1989, when this part of the Lowcountry saw its biggest wave of residential construction. A lot of that original hardware is still in place, and sizing a replacement spring or opener for it means knowing the door's weight and track style, not just its age.
Our climate band is mild with only occasional freeze risk, so we don't quote heavy winterization kits or insulation packages built for colder-region homes - that work doesn't pay off here and we'll say so instead of selling it. We also don't travel outside the area we actually serve. If your address is well past Kiawah Island or Meggett, we'll tell you that up front rather than book a trip we can't make good on.
Get in touch
Call 18434666186 or reach us at 1301 Charleston Regional Pky, Charleston, SC 29492. For an accurate quote, tell us the door's width (single or double), whether it's wood, steel, or aluminum, and what it's actually doing - won't open, makes noise, off its track, spring snapped.
A photo of the door and the broken part, if you can get one safely, saves a second trip. What we can't price sight unseen: anything involving a bent track, a door that's come off its hinges, or a panel that's been patched before.
Those jobs vary too much door to door. A household here earns a median $96,032, but that doesn't change what a torsion spring costs - the door doesn't know your zip code, and we quote the part and the labor, not the neighborhood.
With 129,815 households and 63,826 owner-occupied houses across our service area, we see a lot of the same mid-80s steel doors come up in quote requests, which is part of why we can usually give you a solid estimate over the phone once we know the door type and the symptom.
Service area
We cover ground from West Ashley, just 3 miles southwest, out to Kiawah Island, 16 miles down the coast. In between, we run calls in Ansonborough (4 miles SE), Harleston Village (4 miles SSE), Mount Pleasant (6 miles), James Island (7 miles), and Hanahan (7 miles).
Farther out, we work North Charleston (8 miles), Sullivan's Island (9 miles), Folly Beach (11 miles), Goose Creek (12 miles), Isle of Palms (13 miles), Wild Dunes (14 miles east), Hollywood (14 miles), Ladson (15 miles), Ravenel (16 miles), and Meggett (19 miles).
Across these 13-plus named areas, the housing stock mostly dates to the 1980s and 90s, so the openers and door hardware we're pulling off and replacing tend to be familiar. If your address falls outside this list, give us a call anyway - we'll tell you straight whether it's a trip we can make.
Questions
For a standard spring, cable, or opener repair, yes, if you can tell us the door size, material, and what it's doing. For anything involving a bent track, off-hinge panel, or a full replacement, we need to see the door before we can give you a number that holds.
Distance can affect scheduling, but we'll tell you that when you call, not after we show up. Both are within the area we cover, same as Mount Pleasant or James Island.
The door's width, whether it's single or double, the material, and a plain description of the problem - won't open, grinding noise, off track, spring snapped. A photo helps if you can get one without reaching under the door.
Depends on the hardware and how it was maintained, not just the age. We won't quote a replacement sight unseen, and we also won't talk you into one if a repair will hold.
